If you are someone who suffers from breathlessness then singing might be the answer you’ve been looking for!

Singing for breathing is a singing group for people living with long term respiratory conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, Bronchiectasis, and any other condition that causes breathlessness, such as anxiety.

Singing helps manage the symptoms of breathlessness through using the breathing techniques that singers use, such as breathing deeply from the abdominal muscles, rather than shallow breathing from the chest. These techniques are easy to pick up and make a huge impact on how you control your breath.

Singing in a choir is also an activity that has many positive impacts. It creates a safe space where you are free to express yourself and find your voice. The group is a great opportunity to meet new people, make new friends, enjoy a natter and some tea and cake in a friendly environment!

The group sings music from around the world, folk songs, traditional Scottish songs, jazz and pop songs! If there are any songs you would like to sing just let us know!

We run every  Wednesday from 2-4pm in Dennistoun New Parish church. At the bottom of Armadale Street . G31.  Turn off Duke Street opposite the TSB Bank.

If you are interested in joining, do drop us a message on our contact page. Otherwise just pop along to a session! Bring a friend if this helps.
